How are Bespoke Rings Made?
Every Flawless ring is made by hand and can take 6-10 weeks to complete using over 42 different steps to perfect each piece. We proudly use Londons most skilled heritage fine jewellery makers and goldsmiths within Hatton Garden whose knowledge has been passed down for over 320 years.

The step you have been patiently waiting for. Whether you pick up your ring in person or have it shipped securely to your home, this moment is always special. Our team will box and pack your finished ring with care, ready to be revealed within our small signature rose gold ring box. You will receive your certificate and guidance on maintenance and warranty so it stays beautiful for years to come.

CONSULTATION
If you are ordering a ring to be designed from scratch, your journey starts with one of our Jewellers. You will be able to discuss everything from diamonds, design possibilities, time frames to quotes. This consultation can happen in one of our stores or virtually online from the comfort of your home which appeals to international clients.

 DESIGNING FOR THE STONE
After your initial consultation a follow up meeting or online discussion will take place to help you make the most informed decision regarding your centre stone/s and how to best craft your design around it. You will be given all the information you require and can make decision about specifics in your own time.

 YOUR RING DRAWING
Once a centre stone is chosen, to better visualise the design of your piece, we provide you a  ‘CAD’ drawing. Sometimes an additional 3D printed wax model of the drawing is created if required. All the precise details are confirmed at this step including finger size, side stones, engravings, metal type and the exact measurements of the ring. Our experts will not proceed with production until you are completely satisfied with the design.

 CASTING MOLTEN METAL
With your design approved, the transformation from concept to creation continues with our expert casters who have perfected the flow dynamics for metal strength and longevity. Your chosen recycled metal, whether yellow, white, rose gold, or platinum, is heated until it reaches a molten state at 1000c and then carefully cast into the ring mould, shaped precisely for your hand and your stones. Once cooled, the raw cast is revealed. At this stage it looks unrefined, but it carries the exact shape and structure of your future ring.

SETTING THE STONES
After the raw ring has been soldered, polished and prepared, our skilled setters begin the delicate work of placing each chosen gemstone securely into its claw setting. This is a meticulous, highly skilled stage that requires years of training under an expert to perfect. You need steady hands and sensitive attention to symmetry, stability and sparkle. Each prong is shaped, tightened and polished to hold the stones perfectly. Whether it’s an exquisite centre stone or an array of smaller accent stones, this step brings the ring to life.
6.
POLISH AND CLEAN
Once the stones are set, the piece moves to its polish and clean, where the metal is toned to achieve its flawless, glowing finish. Using a series of specialist tools, our goldsmiths correct every curve and surface, removing any remaining raw marks from crafting and setting, and finishing the metal as requested, matte or polished. Finally, the ring is ultrasonically deep cleaned to ensure every facet and crevice sparkles. This step reveals the true radiance of the design, showcasing the beauty of the hand craftsmanship and your gemstones.

QUALITY CHECK
Before your ring is ready to leave our workshop, it undergoes a thorough quality inspection. Our team assesses every detail, from the security of the stones and the accuracy of the measurements to the polish, symmetry and hallmarking. Nothing is overlooked. Only once the ring has met our highest standards of craftsmanship and durability is it approved for collection. This ensures your bespoke piece will be cherished for a lifetime and beyond.

A bespoke engagement ring is designed from scratch.


You start with a blank canvas, collaborate with one of our jewellers, choose every detail (stone, design, metal, accent stones), and the piece is entirely custom-made just for you. No part of the design existed before your project began. It’s the most personalised, labour-intensive and lengthy way to order a ring. If this process sounds like it involves too many choices, we also offer curated and customised signature rings. 


A customised signature ring starts with an existing Flawless design that you can partially customise to your preferences.


You are able to change the centre stone, metal colour, band width, prong style, or add engraving and birthstones, but the core design remains the same. It’s semi-bespoke, giving personalisation without starting from scratch.


A curated ring is a pre-selected or pre-designed style and stone chosen by our jewellers for its beauty, craftsmanship and design.

The ring design already exists, but the ring has not been crafted yet. A client chooses from one of the rings curated by us and then it is made to order. Curated rings are often available faster than a bespoke or customised ring because the design work is complete
